
FY25 Mandatory Texas Cybersecurity Training starts Nov 1st
As part of our commitment to securing our systems and complying with state mandate, users of EP County IT resources have been enrolled in the Mandatory FY25 Texas Cybersecurity Training. This training covers the cybersecurity training requirements for users as identified under Section 2054.5191 of the Texas Government Code for the fiscal year 2024-2025. Topics include information security habits and procedures that protect information resources, with updates to include best practices while working remotely and detecting, assessing, reporting, and addressing information security threats.
Who Must Complete the Training?
The training is mandatory for:
- Employees, elected officials, and appointed officials who have access to a local government computer system or database and use a computer to perform at least 25% of their duties.
Training Details:
- Hard Deadline: July 27, 2025. We ask users to complete the training at their earliest convenience to help us comply with TX DIR and HB3834 state requirements.
- Time Commitment: The training will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.
- Training Access: The training will be available through KnowBe4, our designated cybersecurity training platform. Users will receive an email with login instructions and a link to start the training. But users may begin to the training by going to https://training.knowbe4.com

How to Access and Complete the Training:
- Check Your Email: Users will receive an email from KnowBe4 with a link to access the training. Alternatively, users may start the training by going to https://training.knowbe4.com
- Complete the Training: Follow the instructions in the email to complete the training by July 27, 2025. We ask users to complete the training as soon as possible to help us comply with TX DIR and HB3834 before the hard deadline.
- Receive Your Certificate: Upon completion, you will receive a certificate confirming your participation and compliance.
